Why an Internship?Why should I consider the internships UK has on offer at the moment? The reason Chad became a dental hygienist was primarily his mother. The first is to say that incentives just don’t work in the safety industry and that they should be thrown out. “Punished By Rewards” author, Alfie Kohn, supports this ideology and suggests that motivating people using “carrots and sticks” is limited at best, and produces small results in the long run. Many companies share Kohn’s view and began slashing employee incentive rewards from their budget; this obviously resulted in demotivation.
Another form of thinking that’s beginning to emerge, represented by author Daniel Pink in his new book “Drive,” is the belief that traditional motivation works well for simple and menial tasks, while tasks that require brain power and problem solving skills are actually hindered.
